Top 10 Black Young Models

These Black Young Models are killing the model scene shining their Black Girl Magic on the runways and in magazines. We have and continue to see a steady increase of black young models at  New York Fashion Week over the past few years.

There are only a handful of black models that have paved the way for these black young models today. Naomi Sims, for example, is known as the world’s first black supermodel. Naomi appeared on the cover of Ladies’ Home Journal, November 1968.

Model, Beverly Johnson became the first African-American woman to appear on the cover of Vogue in 1974. Other top fashion super models include Selita Ebanks, Jessica White, Iman, Tyra Banks, and Naomi Campbell .

Black culture contributes enormously to the fashion industry, but we rarely get credit for it. Over 50 years ago, there would have never been this many young black models on the cover of magazines such as VOGUE and walking in well known High Fashion, Fashion Shows for designers such as Marc Jacobs. This list of black young models below are continuously breaking societies fashion standards and barriers.

And although the number of black models have increased, these black young models, as well as others are working every day to change the industry for the better.
